Anche Activision si butta su Wii

“You’re going to see a big shift in our development for Wii, and I’m not just talking about ported games.” - Activision Senior Vice President of Marketing Bill Kassoy

People didn’t want the change. When you’ve sold over 40 million copies, you’ve got to listen to your fans. - Square-Enix spokesperson

Link e Pikachu in Drawn Together

Smash Bros Online sì o no?

No, il Wii non sta vendendo...no...

Ecco l'hands on!

We just got a hands on with Nyko's Wii Party Station and we can safely say that it's crazy. Crazy awesome. It's got pretty much everything you want to have when you're having a Wii house party, and it's designed cheaply enough ($24.99) for every Wii-owning family to use as an accessory to enhance their gaming.

But the best part is, of course, the chip holder. Nyko told us that they were going to re-evaluate the design and increase the size (making it deeper and wider) to accommodate more chips. The amount in there is enough for one person, but as a party tray it's fairly under-stocked. But the idea is great.

There are LCD scoreboards (so you can keep track of which one of the four of you is winning), Wiimote holders, a drawer for Nunchucks, a fan (like the bowling alley) for sweaty gamers, four freezable soda cup holders (with built-in gels to maintain coldness), and a chip and dip holder for, obviously, chips and dip. We didn't eat any of their chips, because it was presumably sitting out all day getting poked at by sweaty journalists.

The soda holders were nice and solid, and has the gels on the inside so it keeps your soda cold for a while longer outside the fridge. The tray holds two Nunchucks, which is usually enough for most four-player games. The LCD scoreboard wrks by manually adding or subtracting a point depending on whoever won a game (works for every game, obviously). The fan's definitely a great touch for everyone who's throwing the Wiimote thanks to sweaty palm syndrome.

The current version's still just a prototype, but they plan to release a final version in the next couple months.

Qualche notizia sparsa su Disaster, Project HAMMER, Smash Bros. Brawl e Kyrby per Wii

Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in the works and is “looking very good”

Project H.A.M.M.E.R. has been shelved, but not canceled. No one is working on the game right now.

Smash Bros. Brawl online play can neither be confirmed or denied. Sounds pretty fishy to me!

Kirby has not been abandoned on the Wii. We were told not to forget about Kirby when asked where the Cube version went.

According to IGN’s interview, we’ll bee waiting a while before we’ll see! Thanks, haleman!

E3 2007: Aonuma and Miyamoto on Next Wii Zelda
Some ideas are being thrown around, but don’t expect a sequel anytime soon.
by Matt Casamassina
July 12, 2007 - The launch of Twilight Princess with the Wii was a first for Nintendo, which has never delivered a Zelda game so early in the life cycle of a new console. So does that mean fans may not be treated to another Zelda project, this time developed exclusively for Wii? Well, at the very least, it looks like it’s going to be awhile, Speaking with IGN Wii, Twilight Princess director Eiji Aonuma and Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto collectively indicated that while some ideas are being tossed around for a new Wii Zelda project, nothing is very far along, or set in stone.

Asked if Twilight Princess would be Wii’s last Zelda, Aonuma said, “I can’t say, but I guess for now, maybe, yeah [laughs]. Not to say that it’s going to be the final game. There’s still a lot of potential with the Wii so there’s still a possibility that there could be another Zelda for it. We do have some ideas in the works, but I can’t say for sure because none of them have been approved and we’re still very much in the planning process, so I hope you look forward to whatever comes out.”

While Twilight Princess performed under expectations in Japan, the newly released DS title, Phantom Hourglass, is selling very well, and Nintendo is taking notice of gamers’ reactions. “The Phantom Hourglass has been released in Japan and reception has been very, very positive,” said Aonuma. “We’ve actually been able to receive feedback from the users and we’ll definitely take all of those comments into consideration when creating the next Zelda, whether it be for Wii or DS.”

Shigeru Miyamoto elaborated on the likelihood of another Wii Zelda. “It’s really hard to say because we’ve never had a Zelda that’s appeared so early in the life cycle of the system, so it’s definitely possible that there would be another Zelda on Wii,” he said. “Of course, the challenge is that typically a Zelda game is something that takes three years to develop, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Pikmin per Wii presto tra noi?

Sentiamo cosa ne pensa il maestro;

E3 2007: Miyamoto: We Haven’t Seen the Last of Pikmin
Nintendo’s famous game producer says the Wii remote is well suited to the franchise.
by Matt Casamassina
July 12, 2007 - Every time we chat with Nintendo’s famous producer, Shigeru Miyamoto, we bring up at least one franchise we’d like to see remade for the company’s current-generation console. It used to be Metroid. Then it was Kid Icarus. And most recently, it’s become Pikmin. When quizzed on the subject, Miyamoto all but revealed that another Pikmin was in development for Wii.

“I certainly don’t think we’ve seen the last of Pikmin,” he said. “I definitely would like to do something with them, and I think the Wii interface in particular is very well suited to that franchise.”

Of course, he did not divulge any further specifics, but it seems to be a safe bet that we’ll see the return of the Pikmin franchise on Wii at some point in the future.

Animal Crossing Wii

E3 2007: Animal Crossing Update
Hopefully we’ll be able to show you something before too long, says Miyamoto.
by Matt Casamassina

July 12, 2007 - During a recent one-on-one interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, the famed Nintendo producer talked briefly about progress on the Wii version of Animal Crossing, Here’s what he had to say:

“The Animal Crossing team has been very busy working on a variety of different projects. Actually, the Mii Channel was put together by the director of the most recent Animal Crossing game. His name is Mr. Nogami. Recently he said he really wants to get back to work on Animal Crossing again, so hopefully we’ll be able to show something to people before too long.”

The title was announced previously and is expected to make full use of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Ecco uno scambio tra Matt di Ign e il maestro;

E3 2007: Miyamoto on 1:1 Sword Fighting Game
Says Nintendo has ideas; also points to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
by Matt Casamassina

July 12, 2007 - IGN recently asked famous Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto whether or not the publisher had thought about internally developing a sword fighting game with one-to-one controls - something Wii fans have been clamoring for - and he hinted that some talks had taken place. In fact, judging by the phrasing of his response, Nintendo may already have a game underway.

“We haven’t announced anything, so I can’t speak about any particulars, but we do have a lot of ideas about how we could potentially use the Wii remote for something like that,” Miyamoto told us.

He also pointed to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games as a project that may potentially include such a feature. “There will be some fencing in Mario & Sonic at the Olympics. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that, so if I’m not, I’m very sorry, SEGA,” he said, laughing.

Video orgiastici
