Una recensione tipica per Wii: Metroid Prime 3

Scusate, dovevo condividere quest'abominio con qualcuno.

Yet even controlling so well and being a joy to play through because of it, Prime 3 has that same Gamecube game with motion control feel that LoZ:TP had. The exception is that LoZ:TP was billed as such, whereas Metroid Prime 3 was built from the ground up for the Wii. The latter fact is apparent in the aforementioned use of controls, but not so much in terms of appearance. Prime 3 doesn’t look too different from Prime 1 or 2. In fact, to some it might look exactly the same, though Prime 3 runs at a super smooth framerate, unlike its predecessors. The lack of a graphical upgrade won’t deter hardcore Metroid fans, but for bringing in new fans who are used to seeing games like BioShock, Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat, or even Resistence: Fall of Man, Prime 3 may not be able to impress based on visuals alone. Newcomers will have to play it in order to understand why this is a title they should be excited about.
...
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption isn’t a bad game by any means, but it isn’t world-shatteringly great either. It’s an awesome conclusion to a surprising take on the Metroid formula, but it may have difficulty bringing in fans who are accustomed to some of the more current FPS offerings that are out there. For gamers who own only the Wii, Prime 3 is seriously the best the system has to offer in terms of presentation, pacing, and control. For those that own multiple next-gen systems, Prime 3 is a fun deviation, but it may not leave the same lasting impression that other games have.

Part of lowering the level of difficulty involves fewer enemies, which in turn equates to less action. As you explore various locales, moving room-to-room you won't encounter any significant resistance. Scripted scenes involving marauding space pirates and the obligatory boss confrontations serve up a challenge, but for the most part there isn't quite enough action. Adding to that is the absurdity of shooting doors open to trek between rooms. Not only is it a shallow device for covering up loading times, but it's flat out annoying. You frequently have to stand in front of a door idly, waiting for it to open because the game can't load the next room fast enough. While its blend of action and puzzle-solving is certainly entertaining, the game is held back by these flaws.

It's hard not to notice the darkness that pervades the game, even with the brightness set to maximum. Portions of some rooms are literally shrouded in black, obscured from view; switch to the scan visor and it's even worse. The low-level lighting doesn't completely ruin the experience, but it's an unnecessary flaw.
